FIXINGS
Metex wall fixings demonstrate technical excellence with a ‘fixing or hook for every application’. The Corefix and Cobra ranges offer an unrivalled range of plasterboard fixings, dot & dab wall fixings, universal wall plugs, picture hooks & hangers!
Corefix
Corefix, our own patented ‘dot & dab’ fixing from Metex, is designed for fixing heavy items to dot & dab walls. It is also suitable for use within masonry and blockwork walls!
Securing a fixing into a dot and dab wall has historically relied on a plasterboard fixing and the strength of the plasterboard itself. This alone may not be suitable for reliably fixing heavy items, and may cause the plasterboard to crush into the void behind as you overtighten the fixing. Corefix
solves this problem with its unique steel core, which transfers the load into the blockwork behind, stops the board being crushed and relies on the block rather than the board to support the weight.
Tested to over 250kg (without failure) with a safe working load of 100kg based on 4 x Corefix fixings, Corefix has been independently tested for tensile and sheer strength. With most modern houses having dot&dab walls, Corefix is essential for DIYers and tradespeople!
