Due to ongoing cost pressures, Bira Direct supplier Cottam Brush has announced an unavoidable price change on some of their products from 1st April 2022.
Cottam has over 150 years of experience in manufacturing high-quality brush ware, offering our customers the optimum levels of service and reliability. Operating from their base in North East England, Cottam products are sold across the world and they aim to provide 100% stock availability at all times.
In a letter to their business partners and customers, they have said:
"Firstly, thank you for your custom during the past year. We value your choice to use, stock and supply Cottam products. 
We have faced many challenges in the past 12 months regarding pricing of raw materials, transport, and availability of goods. The reasons for these are well publicised and are due to a mixture of Covid closures causing material shortages and production delays, as well as import complications.
Many of our raw materials (plastics, cotton, polyester, steel, aluminium) saw double-digit price rises in the first half of 2021, followed by further similar increases in the last 6 months. In addition, we have seen large increases in UK fuel, transport, and energy costs, and our production costs have increased early this year, following new legislation on minimum wage and increased NI contributions.
Whilst we have absorbed as much of these extra costs as we can, we unfortunately, must advise you of a 10% increase in our list pricing effective from April 1st, 2022 for all of our catalogue products.
